Belmont gets snowed in

In an unusual quirk of nature, Nashville is sitting under several inches of snow.

According to The Tennessean, between 4 and 10 inches of snow fell on Friday, in Nashville and surrounding areas.

Classes continued on Friday and Belmont should be open Monday as well. Many local businesses stayed open through the weekend, including Frothy Monkey and Bongo Java.

Instead of staying inside, Belmont students took to whatever slopes they could find using sleds made out of cardboard boxes, seat cushions and the lids from plastic bins. In some cases, they even improvised ramps.
