Provost announces new dean of students candidates

Candidates for the dean of students position will be holding convocations over the next three weeks for students to provide feedback to the university, according to an email from Provost Dr. Thomas Burns.

The search for a new dean began in November, after former Dean of Students Dr. Jeffrey Burgin tendered his resignation. Since then, Burns has been acting as interim dean of students.

Burns hopes to have an offer out to a new dean by the end of February, so they can start by April 1.

But first, the university will hold candidate convocation events, which will allow students to ask individual candidates questions and provide the university with feedback that will help in the decision-making process.

After the convocations, students can find surveys for each of the candidates here. These must be submitted by March 1 to be reviewed.

Resumes, curriculum vitaes and statements on Belmont’s mission and values for each of the candidates are available here.
