Continuing an annual tradition, Belmont’s Phi Mu Theta chapter hosted BonnaMu Unplugged, featuring Hunter Hayes and other artists on Saturday at the McAfee Performing Arts Center.

The benefit concert raised more than $63,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network, specifically for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

In past years, BonnaMu has raised thousands of dollars for CMN hospitals at a variety of universities, with Belmont celebrating the occasion annually since 2014.

“The goal was to create an event at a larger scale than years past to ultimately raise more money for the kids at CMN,” said Phi Mu’s Philanthropy Chair Britney Sams.

In addition to the admission price of $25, students had the opportunity to support the event by donating money, purchasing merchandise, and participating in the auction of a guitar autographed by Hunter Hayes.

“The Theta chapter of Phi Mu at Belmont University proudly supports our local CMN hospital,” Sams said.
