Less than 24 hours after sophomore guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie announced he would enter the transfer portal, another member of Belmont's superb sophomore trio announced his intentions to transfer.
Sophomore big Malik Dia will enter the transfer portal and undergo the 2024 NBA Draft Process, according to multiple sources on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Dia has not released a statement of his own but has retweeted the various announcements.
After transferring from Vanderbilt University, Dia electrified Belmont crowds with his dazzling dunks and ability to space the floor and shoot 3-pointers.
Dia averaged 16.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.2, being named to the All-MVC Third Team and MVC All-Newcomer Team.
With Dia transferring, Belmont has lost four of its five starters from the 2023-24 season.
Now one question lingers over the team.
What is Cade Tyson’s decision?
