Belmont University Student Theatre will present “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Bongo Java After Hours Theatre, but it won’t be the same old story it has always been.
“A lot of people have heard of ‘You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,’ and it’s a really popular musical. But our director and artistic team had a great spin,” said BUST co-public relations head Sofia Tosches. “It’s actually the Charlie Brown gang that we know and love as a group of young adults.”
Part of the twist is that the adult characters work in the office of a publishing company. Snoopy is not a dog but the hobo that sits on the corner outside of the office.
The show opens Friday at 9 p.m. at Bongo Java After Hours Theatre with shows Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged to cover production expenses.
