"Christmas at Belmont" Airing on Amazon Prime this Year

After airing on PBS for over a decade, Christmas at Belmont now has a new platform for people to watch.

On Wednesday, President Greg Jones announced that the program will air on Amazon’s Prime streaming service and Twitch channel.

“This performance represents a major step forward for Belmont. As our first globally livestreamed event, it substantially broadens our reach, allowing us to share our students' talents with a worldwide audience,” said President Greg Jones in an email.

Another change this year is that the performance will feature alumni Cody Fry, Ashley Cooke and Dwan Hill with the Choir Room.

The event is going to serve as a way to highlight Belmont’s musical students and “the College of Music & Performing Arts’ commitment to fostering innovative creativity and providing comprehensive training. The 90-minute performance will feature more than 600 student musicians and vocalists where viewers will witness the depth of Belmont’s musical education,” said Belmont’s press release.

The event will be streamed on Dec. 11 and available for rewatch for Amazon Prime subscribers.
