Full speed ahead for Belmont’s 2022 homecoming, which kicks off Monday with festivities that will carry on throughout the week.
This year, campus will be booming once more with WELL Core events, free swag and opportunities to show school spirit leading up to a basketball doubleheader against Tennessee State University on Saturday.
For a full schedule of events, speakers, chapels, panels and more, visit Belmont’s homecoming page.
In the meantime, here are some helpful highlights:
Mission Monday
— Students can connect with Belmont alumni who own or work for non-profit organizations at a fair from 10 a.m. to noon. Stop by the first floor of the JAAC and see what their missions are all about.
— Head over to the Beaman between noon and 4:30 p.m. for “Build-A-Bruin.” The Office of Student Engagement will provide bears students can dress up to be donated at the end of the week. If you miss it, vote for the best-dressed bear on social media!
T-Shirt Tuesday
— Students can grab a free homecoming T-shirt in the Johnson lobby from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., while supplies last. The rest of the day, wear your favorite Belmont merch to show your Bruins pride.
— Speaking of T-shirts, The Belmont Store is running deals all week on the Bruins spiritwear of your dreams! Gear up for Tuesday, or save your favorite look for Saturday’s basketball games. Store hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
WOW Wednesday
— It Must Be Wednesday will be happening in Freedom Plaza from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with free refreshments and music provided by the Office of Student Engagement. Swing by and grab a cup of coffee before or after class.
Thank You Thursday
— What’s homecoming without more basketball? Stop by Chick-fil-A for a watch party as the Bruins dive into a doubleheader against Murray State. Women tip off at 5 p.m. and men play at 8 p.m., so grab some friends, nosh on some nuggets and prepare for a showdown.
FANtastic Friday
— Belmont’s inaugural homecoming spirit parade will be moving through Freedom Plaza at 10 a.m. Student organizations and residence halls can decorate a float for the parade, and two $500 cash prizes will be awarded to the floats that best reflect the theme of “Let Hope Abound.”
— Students, alumni and faculty can participate in a FitRec pickleball tournament starting at 3 p.m. Contact sport admin professor Dr. Robbie Matz to register: robbie.matz@belmont.edu. Play ball!
— The annual “Homecoming in the Round” concert with alumni performers Two Story Road, Emily Falvey, Cameron Bedell, Emily Landis and The Petty Junkies. The show starts at 7 p.m. in the Massey Performing Arts Center and is free to attend with a pre-booked ticket.
Homecoming Saturday
— In preparation for two big basketball games, students are invited to stop by the Bell Tower tailgate for a free lunch. RSVP online before the celebration kicks off at 12:30 p.m.
— It’s Bruin Time! The Curb Event Center comes alive at 3 p.m. for the women’s tipoff against Tennessee State University, and the men’s game will follow at 5 p.m. Don’t forget about the crowning of the 2022 homecoming king and queen at halftime.
