A month after revealing Katelyn Harrison wouldn’t return as volleyball head coach, Belmont Athletic Director Scott Corley announced the hiring of Fritz Rosenberg on Thursday.

"I am excited to welcome Fritz into the Belmont family," Corley said. "Throughout the process, Fritz demonstrated that he is ready to take on a head coaching role and lead our program.  His vision, background, and personal core values align perfectly with Belmont."

Rosenberg most recently spent time as the associate head coach for Mississippi State

University, helping lead the Bulldogs to wins over nationally-ranked programs such as Florida, Missouri and Arkansas.

Rosenberg also has been to four NCAA Tournaments, including helping lead Ball State University defeat Michigan in the 2021 NCAA Tournament.

With the hiring, Senior Associate Athletic Director Renee Schultz said she hopes Belmont Volleyball can become a contender in the Missouri Valley Conference.

"Fritz possesses qualities we were looking for in a candidate: integrity, a winning pedigree at the highest levels of volleyball, a spirit of joy and gratitude, and a desire to navigate the current landscape of college athletics with student-athlete achievement on and off the court in mind,” She said. “We look forward to working with Fritz and positioning our volleyball program for sustained conference and postseason success."
