While Homecoming Week may be halfway finished, there are still several events students can attend as part of the week’s festivities.
On Thursday, the Belmont men’s basketball team will face the Morehead State Eagles at home a week after a one-point win over them on the road. The game starts at 7 p.m. at the Curb Event Center and will include students/faculty basketball at halftime.
Friday’s events will start early as students contend with temperatures forecasted below freezing for the Polar Bear 5K Friday morning at 6:30 a.m.
At 10 a.m., recently announced Tennessee Professor of the Year Dr. Mike Pinter will speak about “Hats, Hamming and Hypercubes” in the Massey Boardroom. Academic Lecture convo will be given at the event.
Friday night will also include Student Government Association’s annual bonfire and t-shirt giveaway starting at 5 p.m. A sold-out alumni concert with guest appearances from Peter Frampton and Ricky Skaggs will also be at the Massey Performing Arts Center Friday at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, the Bruins on Brooms quidditch club will play Tennessee Tech at the old Whitten Soccer Complex at 2 p.m. and host a pre-game tailgate party before the game. Belmont professor Dr. Richard Shadinger will also perform a carillon concert at the Belltower at 3 p.m. The men’s and women’s basketball teams will begin play at 5 p.m against the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech.
