Meet the new Bruin: Arianna Person

Arianna Person wears a number 10 jersey for the Belmont volleyball team, playing as an outside hitter. A graduate of Saint James Academy in Kansas City, Person’s declared major is nursing.

Two of her favorite hobbies include reading and painting. Her favorite TV show to watch is “New Girl.”

Person loves to eat hamburgers and eat at “Jose Peppers,” a Mexican restaurant native to Kansas.

She said she gains a lot of her volleyball inspiration from her former high school coaches.

“My high school coaches are probably my biggest influences, both of them, they’re married, actually. They’re my role models for volleyball and life,” said Person.

Her volleyball career began in the second grade. Person’s sister, who is five years older, inspired her to play volleyball.

“When I was younger, all I wanted to do was be just like her,” she said.

Person has already made an impact on the court this season, earning 2014 Belmont Invitational All-Tournament Team honors and a double-double with 14 kills and 13 digs in her first match as a Bruin.

Watch number 10 continue to stand out as a newcomer for the Belmont volleyball team.
