For Belmont freshman Evan Stifel, competing in cross country is something that runs in the family.
“I started cross country in middle school because both of my siblings did it,” said Stifel. “I’ve just done it ever since.”
Stifel grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he lead his high school to state championships in his junior and senior years.
Stifel chose Belmont due to a combination of the academic and athletic programs the school offers.
“I think it was a great fit for me academically and athletically,” said Stifel, a nursing student.
In his spare time, the runner said he occasionally joins his teammates for video games, but usually, he is focused on his studies.
Stifel can be seen competing for Belmont’s cross country team, as well as in the 4×800-meter and the 3200-meter for the track team.
