Jessica King, a freshman cross-country runner, is a journalism major and an honors student from Fishers, Ind.
In sixth grade, King’s parents encouraged her to try cross country. King claims she was bad at every other sport, and while at first she hated running, now she couldn’t be happier they made her join.
King’s hobbies include writing, cycling and going for coffee with friends. She also loves to shop at places like H&M, Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. She loves the movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” as well as the show “60 Minutes.”
She draws inspiration from a former teammate, Brooke Morgan.
“I’ve always just been really inspired by her work ethic, and growing up we were really good friends.”
King said although she is inspired by her teammate, she understands the importance of being able to push yourself in an individual sport.
“One of the great parts about running is that it’s for yourself,” said King.
