Sam Borgel, a exercise science major from Marietta, Georgia has been playing soccer since the age of seven.
Borgel knew right away the sport would be a major part of his future.
Having not heard of Belmont prior to his college search, Borgel was spotted by head coach, Bryan Green at a soccer tournament.
Green sparked his interest so Borgel looked into Belmont. “I love the atmosphere here, and everyone that surrounds it,” said Borgel.
In addition to playing soccer at Belmont, Borgel hopes to continue his soccer career after his time as a bruin.
“I’d like to move overseas and eventually play on a team over there.”
The midfielder wearing No. 17 scored his first collegiate goal against Campbell on Sept 13.
