Belmont men’s basketball prides itself on 14-consecutive 20-win seasons.

And with the announcement of its 2024-25 non-conference schedule, the Bruins are looking to extend that streak to 15.

For head coach Casey Alexander, the schedule features new matchups, giving his team and fans plenty of reasons to be excited for the upcoming season.

"Securing a non-conference schedule is always challenging, and this year was no exception," Alexander said. "We are excited about where it landed. Fans will continue to see some local rivals but also get a chance to see several new opponents in the coming years.”

At the Curb Event Center, Belmont hosts Furman University on Nov. 8.

This will be the fourth-straight matchup between the Bruins and the Paladins with some extra stakes for the Bruins after they’ve lost the previous two matchups.

Senior point guard Carter Whitt also transferred from Furman over the summer and will no doubt look to prove himself against his old team.

Other exciting home matchups for Belmont include a showdown against Oral Roberts –– which returns star and former Vanderbilt player Isaac McBride –– on Nov. 19, state rival Middle Tennessee State on Dec. 7 as part of a doubleheader and UC Irvine –– which won the Big West Conference regular season championship and made the National Invitational Tournament –– on Dec. 19.

Away from the Curb, Belmont heads to Cancún, Mexico, to participate in the Cancún Challenge over Thanksgiving Break.

In the first round, the Bruins face Loyola Marymount, a team tmidhat’s garnering attention after landing some highly regarded transfers.

The Bruins also travel to Richmond University to face the defending Atlantic 10 Conference champions.

The game also serves as a homecoming for junior forward Aidan Noyes, who spent his last three seasons with the Spiders.

But Nov. 12 –– when Belmont travels to Lipscomb –– is the date all Belmont basketball fans should have circled on their calendar.

The previous two matchups between the Bison and the Bruins featured back-and-forth action and buzzer beater finishes.

In 2022, Lipscomb won off a Jacob Ognacevic last-second layup.

In 2023, Belmont won after Ja’Kobi Gillespie’s three-point play in the final seconds.

What drama will unfold in Allen Arena this season?
