MULTIMEDIA: Judah and the Lion drums way into Best of the Best

The Christian Showcase brought hundreds of students to the Curb Event Center Saturday night for a night of music and worship.

Each of the four acts had 30 minutes to perform in a lowly lit and foggy arena.

The night started with Sam Pinkerton and her band, who warmed up the audience with her opening set. Pinkerton previously shared one of the songs she performed on Facebook. It had more than 150 hits since Friday.

Sarah Eslick, whose “Daughter of Eve” single is set to be released on Oct. 15, followed Pinkerton with strong lyrics and vocals.

When Meg Mischler and Friends got onstage next, she was welcomed by a front row full of supporters with t-shirts and painted faces with her name. Her performance of “Our God Reigns” brought some of the audience to their feet in worship.

The final act of the night brought candle lights onstage and dozens of fans to the arena’s center aisle. By the time Judah & the Lion appeared, their fans and friends had taken over the front pit. They finished their performance with a drum set that led the audience to dance around the arena.

Judah and the Lion won the competition and will perform at the Best of the Best Showcase in the spring.
