New Dining Options Coming to Campus

New changes are coming to Belmont’s on-campus dining options.

Kelli Davis, director of Auxiliary Technology and Business Analytics for the Office of Auxiliary Services, asked for student input on new dining initiatives at the last Student Government Association meeting of the year.

Davis communicated changes to Corner Court, new dining options available in Caldwell II and a renovation to Harrington Place Dining to be implemented by the fall 2025 semester.

Corner Court’s sandwich line will relocate to the inside of the Barbara Massey Rogers Center.

Another sandwich line and options for students to create their own salad and pasta will be added.

“When we get the permits approved for that space, we will begin work immediately,” said Davis. “There is a possibility that we could open that concept in the spring, but with the way that the permits are being held by the government, it will most likely be the fall.”

The space currently used for Corner Court will become a 24-hour convenience store with self-checkout.

“We realize that there’s an opportunity, particularly in the upcoming convenience store, to really enhance our offerings and make them customized to what our student body wants and needs,” said Davis. “We’ll be looking for input and insights into what you’d like to be offered in that convenience store.”

Additionally, Caldwell II, opening in fall 2025, will come with three new dining options.

Another 24-hour convenience store will open there as well as Shake Smart, a smoothie and acai store.

“We will probably as a result do a small update to the Bruin Bites menu, because a lot of those offerings are currently at Bruin Bites,” said Davis.

A market option will also be available, where students can pick up pre-packaged meals or fresh produce.

Davis also announced a new feature of Harrington Place Dining that will be added over the summer.

“With that upgrade comes a ‘You Cook’ station where we will have some tops where you can cook your own food,” said Davis.

Some members of SGA said they were excited to hear about the renovations.

“I’m so excited the idea that we could have fresh produce on campus,” said senator Jordan Ludwig. “I feel like our dining options keep getting better and better, but fresh food is still something that’s hard to come by, so I’m really excited to see where that goes.”

Belmont’s Student Government Association will recommence in the spring 2025 semester.
