Hundreds of students from nine Nashville colleges and universities gathered Saturday at Meharry Medical College for a day of service in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This year's keynote speaker Rev. Dr. Kelly Miller Smith Jr. shared words of encouragement with student-volunteers before they were sent out to serve the community.
"I dare you – with whatever amount of life you have left, to do whatever you can to be a dreamer. I dare you to also have determination. I dare you to work hard, work diligently – to do what you can, not just for one day. I dare you to make a difference. I. Dare. You," he said.
