Family, friends and fans filled the Johnson large theatre for the spring edition of writers showcase on Saturday evening.  

 

The event featured two rounds of four songwriters who performed two of their original songs, resulting in a winner from each round.  

 

The first round featured Jackie Therrien, Greyson Gainey, Zinnia Moon and Aliyah Good.

The second round included Caleb Polaha, McKenna Blake, Jake Whipple and Kendall Nicole.

The show featured many ballads about college students' complex relationships with their hometowns, love songs, self-growth anthems and ballads reminiscing on past love.

At the end of the night, Gainey and Nicole were announced the winners.  

 

Gainey and Nicole will go on to play at best of the best in April.
