PHOTO STORY: Nashville Songwriters' Night


The live music scene in Nashville is vibrant and spans a number of genres, the Commodore Grille hosted a Writer’s Round on Oct. 29 that featured a diverse set of musicians.  

 

Although not located on Broadway, the restaurant still drew in songwriters from all over the country, including Belmont’s own Ruby Jones.  

 

Known for live music every night, the Commodore Grille extends more opportunities to songwriters by hosting occasional “Writers Rounds.” 

 

Performers such as Garth Brooks and Britney Spears have made their appearances performing at the Grille, drawing fans from a variety of genres. 

 

Their unique sounds ranging from soulful blues to punk rock, upbeat country to slow heartbreak songs, helped to culminate in a unique atmosphere. 


Pamela Lack started off the night strong, performing her song “First Drop of Rain in a Hurricane.”
Belmont freshman Ruby Jones performed her song ”Break Me (like a horse, not a heart)” for the first time live.
The Modern Dynamics performed an electrifying punk-rock piece
PJ Steelman performed songs from his album “When the Evening Falls”

JP Kennedy performed a passion piece in the country genre

Abigail Reagan performed ”Priscilla," a piece named after her musical inspiration Priscilla Presley.

Hunter West performed a traditional style country/pop piece called "Lady Luck”

Heather Liebehnson, member of Omega DeFern, performed “The Caretaker”

Kennedy Fine performed a slow, emotional ballad called "Passenger Seat”









Marissa Scriccio performed her song ”Florida License Plate” alongside Ruby Jones and Kennedy Fine
