Nashville was hit with a flurry of snow Friday morning that moved classes online and brought students outside to build snowmen, throw snowballs and create snow angels on the ground.
Early Friday morning, snow began to fall and set in the Nashville area and Belmont University.
Nashville received about 3 inches of snow according to the National Weather Service Website. Throughout the day students made the trek outside in their jackets, coats, hats and gloves to enjoy the snow.
For some students, it was their first experience in the snow.
“I'm from Georgia, so, like, literally never snows in Georgia,” said freshman Abby Cook. “We just built a snowman. We named him Bob. He's great.”
For others, the experience was something they had seen a number of times before, but it didn’t make it any less special.
“I'm from Connecticut, and I love snow, and it always snows there. So, I just have to come out and show my friend how to snow,” said freshman Sophia Butkus.
Classes are anticipated to resume on Monday, said Provost David Gregory in an email.
