Photos: Moon Taxi returns to Nashville for two Ryman shows

Belmont alumni band Moon Taxi filled the famous Ryman Auditorium Friday night, headlining two sold-out shows Friday and Saturday as part of the band’s “Put Em Up” tour.

While attending Belmont in 2006, frontman Trevor Terndrup, bassist Tommy Putnam, lead guitarist Spencer Thomson, drummer Tyler Ritter and keys player Wes Bailey formed Moon Taxi, a five-piece jam and alternative rock band.

The band has since released four studio albums, with 2015’s “Daybreaker” LP being the most recent full-length.

Back in May, Moon Taxi released their latest single, “Two High.”

The “Put Em Up” tour is reaching its end, with the two Nashville shows heading up the tail end of the massive United States-spanning tour’s first leg.

But Terndrup and Co. — who have been on the road for months now — showed no signs of fatigue at their electric, powerful Ryman show Friday night.
